Just Clothes: social justice

Pass the relay baton from high fashion to high sports, Paris in July is a city celebrating sustainable fashion by Paris Couture Week and by the Paris Olympics. Ahead of the Games, the city is on schedule to Net Zero emission goals by 2030. Sustainability is not the way of the future, but the way of the present. Model sustainable economies such as Finland’s tell us that we have whatever innovations we think we need to slow the climate crisis. For the third most polluting industry in the world, sustainability is the only way (now and forward) for the fashion industry.

People and planet: who, what, wear?

Who made your clothes? What's in your clothes?

Who are you wearing? LVMH's fashion houses is doing more than just styling the collective of Olympians -- LVMH is doing "good" by R&D leadership in another collective, Paris Good Fashion. Through values of collaboration and cooperation, this coalition French fashion houses (Chanel joining R&D task forces with LVMH) commit to social and environmental justice. Good fashion and sustainable fashion means protecting human rights and environment by accountability in the business supply chain. LVMH has invested in setting the gold standard for an international metric for ESG (environmental, social, and governance).

Paris Good Fashion is names Paris the capital for sustainable fashion in themed fashion shows at the Olympic. For Paris Couture Week and the Olympics, the color for the SMART city was green: EV shuttles were standing room only to couture shows and green menus were the popular meal offerings at the Olympic Village.
